Guidelines for the use of biaxial tensile testing machines: These operational details cannot be ignored

Update time: 2026-07-22      Views: 18

The biaxial tensile testing machine is a key equipment for evaluating the mechanical properties of materials under complex stress states. To obtain accurate and reliable data and ensure the long-term operation of equipment, every detail in the operation is crucial.

1、 Precise preparation before the experiment

Firstly, sample preparation must strictly follow the standards to ensure accurate sample size and no burrs on the edges, avoiding data deviation caused by stress concentration. At the same time, suitable fixtures must be selected based on the material characteristics, and the clamping surface must be clean and undamaged, with uniform clamping force to prevent the specimen from slipping or local damage during the stretching process.

2、 Precise control in experiments

Parameter setting is the core process. Operators need to accurately input sample information and testing standards into the software, and set appropriate tensile rates and target strain values based on material properties. Before starting the formal testing, it is necessary to execute the "pre run" program to confirm that the X and Y axis movements are synchronized, smooth, and free of abnormal noise. Throughout the entire experimental process, the operator must be on duty throughout the entire process, monitor the force strain curve in real-time, and strictly prohibit touching the running fixtures or changing parameters.

3、 Standard maintenance after testing

After the test is completed, the power cannot be directly disconnected. The dual axis fixture should be slowly reset to its initial position before turning off the software and power. Timely cleaning of sample residues on fixtures and workbenches, and regular calibration of force sensors and displacement systems, are the cornerstone of maintaining equipment accuracy and extending service life.
